A Romantic Wedding and Honeymoon Destination
The City of Clearwater makes it easy to get married in their little slice of paradise. There are quite a few special, romantic venues for the special day and no waiting period or residency required for marriage licenses. Clearwater is easy to get to, making destination weddings convenient and affordable, while plentiful and diverse accommodations ensure that all guests can stay and enjoy. Marriage ceremonies and receptions can take place around the City in some unique settings.
The pristine beaches are, of course, a popular choice with gorgeous Gulf views, pure white sand and picturesque island palms surrounding the happy couple. Weddings can be set up in a number of different places along the sand and tailored to fit the newlyweds. The Jolley Trolley has long been a Clearwater favorite as the historic and charming trolleys have been transporting customers around the beach for years and is now welcoming nuptials on board, offering a unique ceremony that will be moving in more ways than one.
The Sheraton Sand Key, just south of the island of Clearwater Beach, has the widest beach in town. The resort actually owns their stretch of sand, so they are able to set up the only private outdoor receptions on the beach and uniquely able to host both the ceremony and party to follow on the sand.
The Sandpearl Resort is located on the site of the historic Clearwater Beach Hotel and offers classic Florida style with modern day luxury and service. Paintings by local artists set the mood around the space and provide insight into the local history, heritage and pride of Clearwater, while the outdoor pool area is a true highlight. The lagoon style pool is complimented by a gentle waterfall and indigenous style garden in keeping with the Sandpearl’s commitment to eco-friendliness. The Sandpearl Resort is a beautiful venue for weddings with a number of banquet rooms, an outdoor lawn or even space atop plexiglass above their outdoor waterfall.
The Hyatt Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa also welcomes weddings, with beautiful banquet rooms, accommodating groups of various sizes. Their soaring pool, several stories above the beach, has views that simply cannot be beat and make a great spot to exchange vows. The Hyatt Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa, opened in 2011, graces the beach and offers suite style accommodations perfect for newlyweds or honeymooners. Each large room comes complete with a separate sitting room and kitchen along with modern decor and beds so comfortable one simply sinks into them.

Clearwater occupies prime real estate along Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast, with mile upon mile of sugar white sand beaches providing the perfect way to spend a leisurely day as a couple. Palm trees sway in the gentle breeze and cast playful shadows, while the warm sunshine kisses the skin and refreshing waters invite waders to come and cool off. Many of the hotels and resorts offer direct beach access and provide lounges and umbrellas for their guests, but the beach itself is free to the public and welcomes guests all year long. Clearwater’s beach is consistently ranked among the most beautiful in the country and is the proud recipient of a multitude of awards and widespread acclaim.
There are few views more romantic than a gorgeous sunset, and few sunsets in the world that could be any prettier than those seen from Clearwater, Florida. Visitors can marvel at the beauty of the brightly colored sun as it appears to slowly sink beneath the waves of the turquoise Gulf of Mexico, vanishing from sight and welcoming nighttime. Each evening, the City celebrates the natural show with a festival on Pier 60, featuring local artisans and crafters. There is no shortage of places to enjoy this nightly miracle: outdoor dining at many beachfront restaurants, leisurely sunset strolls at the water’s edge, benches along the Beach Walk or, even a private hotel balcony!
Caladesi and Honeymoon Islands
Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island State Parks are located just north of Clearwater Beach and are some of the last untouched natural environments in Florida. Sun-drenched Gulf beaches, mangrove swamps, and tidal flats go for miles and the parks both boast nature trails and outstanding bird viewing. Visitors can swim, fish, and snorkel in the warm waters of the Gulf or kayak through the tangling mangroves.
